Here is my obligatory fireworks picture for the 4th of July. Yippee.
I'm not feeling very festive this year. I'm already tired of hearing fireworks going off in the hood and it's just Saturday. I have a feeling I'm becoming that grumpy person that yells "Get off my lawn". Every neighborhood needs one, so why not me? I think I could pull it off quite nicely. I have a loud voice and a menacing look, both considered necessary for the job. I rarely talk to my neighbors so they already know I'm anti-social. Where do I apply?
Maybe I'm just feeling sorry for myself. I don't have a friend with a boat inviting me to the lake. Hell, I don't even own a grill to make hot dogs and hamburgers. There won't be a fireworks show at our double A baseball stadium this year because the team is out of town. So what is a person to do?
Write this blog post I guess and practice my scowl to use on the neighbor kids.

Friday Stir Fry - Cooking
I don't cook much anymore. At least not a whole meal.
I used to cook. My family didn't starve. But, it wasn't my favorite task. We ate a lot of Hamburger Helper.
In fact, when my daughter had to make an alphabet picture book for school, she used Hamburger Helper for H.
Now days, I might stick a hamburger patty or a chicken breast in my George Foreman Grill and a potato in the microwave, but that's about it. Healthy, right?
I picked up Chinese food before going home and as usual only ate about half of it. When I went to put it in the fridge, there was the exact same container sitting on the shelf. I totally forgot I had leftovers from a couple days ago. My bad. I stood back for a moment and assessed my food supply. Beer, ketchup, salad dressing (no salad mind you), a couple of expired yogurt cups and now 2 Styrofoam containers of Chinese food. Oh, and a few containers of questionable science experiments that I'm scared to open.
So, you may see me at the grocery store this weekend. Or, more than likely, at the drive-thru window of my favorite Chinese joint.
