Aaaahhh, aren't they cute!
http://www.sxc.hu/photo/1402028 Valentine's Day sucks. Even when I was married, it wasn't my favorite day. Too much pressure.

What to get him? What will he get me? He better get me something. Even though I told him not to get me anything.
I've become more tolerant of it in the years since my divorce. At first, I was sad and mad. You better not let me see you getting flowers. I'll hate you the rest of the day.
Then my son started sending me flowers. What a good kid. It always cheered me up.
Then I started giving candy to the bartenders and servers at my hangout. Guess what? That made me feel even better.
Lessen for the day: Give something to somebody today. Show some appreciation. It doesn't have to be much and they don't have to be your significant other. Maybe a stranger could just use a hug.
Or go hug a tree if you're afraid of strangers.

I was always weirded out by stranger hugs. And it happened a few times on campus at college. Anyway, I'd send you flowers if I could. You're an awesome person, Wanda and I'm glad you're in my life. :) Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteAh, you're sweet. Right back at ya!
DeleteThe hubster and I don't usually celebrate V-day either, but this year I wanted to do something nice for him and my kids. It's just a little something, but it makes me feel good =) Great post!
ReplyDeleteAnd it will make them feel good too! Thanks for commenting.
DeleteWhat a great idea! I love the idea of enjoying the holiday by giving to others.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me feel better.
DeleteI love the "share the love" concept. Chocolate for everyone!!!
ReplyDeleteMy wife and I are both 50 or over, raising two teenagers, and work different shifts. We're lucky to find time to shake hands. We've found texting a good way of sending love messages to each other.
